I need to have my blood pressure checked. Do you offer this service?

At Thompson Drug, we will be happy to check your blood pressure for you at no charge. Just ask to have your blood pressure checked at the pharmacy counter.

I missed a dose of my medication, what should I do?

In most cases, if you have only missed a dose of medication by one or two hours, it is okay to go ahead and take the missed dose. If it has been longer than a few hours or you are close to taking the next dose of your medication, please call and talk to one of our Thompson Drug pharmacists. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about a missed dose of medication. It is important to note that you should never double a dose of your medication to make up for the missed dose unless you are specifically instructed to do so by your doctor or pharmacist.

I'm going on vacation and need my medication filled early. What should I do?

Many insurance plans allow for early refills once yearly with a vacation override. Your pharmacist will have to call and talk with your insurance company to see if this override is available on your plan, so please allow extra time to have these medications refilled. If your insurance plan does not offer a vacation override, please speak with one of our helpful pharmacists to work out a solution that accommodates your travel plans.

Is it safe to take OTR (over-the-counter) vitamins and/or supplements with my medication?

In most cases, OTC vitamins and supplements can be taken with your prescription medications. But it is always a good idea to check with your pharmacist before starting any new OTC medications.
